Summer = Weight Loss

slimming-tip.net
      Ok, so I have been battling with my weight for almost two years now and let's just say I am not proud of the outcome. When I stopped playing basketball in 2009, I really started to enjoy the fact that I did not have to wake up at 6 am every morning to go work out. Well now, two years later, I still have not done anything about it. I am completely aware that I have nobody to blame but myself and I have to decide to take those steps to get down to the weight I want to be, so I am making this post to tell you that I am going to stay focused, eat right, work out, and take care of myself. I admit, I have gotten so used to other people (i.e. my coaches and family) pushing me to do everything in my power to achieve my athletic goals, so now that I am on my own, I find it really hard to wake up at seven to do a few crunches and squats (mind you I used to be able to run a mile under 6 minutes and now I can barely walk up a flight of stairs with out passing out....breaks my heart). It is like I constantly get motivated and then that fuse burns out, rather quickly if I see a moist slice of chocolate cake, and then I am back to square one. I am just really tired of looking in the mirror and not liking what I see because I know what I am supposed to look like and on top of that I am really disappointed for letting myself go this far. This needs to be a lifestyle change for me, and that is exactly what I am going to treat it as and document my weight loss journey along the way. How do you stay motivated, with anything? Work outs? Eating healthy? School?

  1. I am out of shape too I couldn't run down the block or walk steps either but I am trying now. I keep motivated with YouTube exercises, fitting into my favorite clothing styles (hehe) and my bf I suppose. I have a couple of posts including the instruments I use to work out, they are on YouTube as well.

    I find my sister keeps motivated when seeing herself in pictures at blogger events or when posing with friends and family.

    Good luck you can do it!

  3. i'm trying to get motivated too! the only thing is i hate exercising unless its fun- i absolutely despise the gym and i've not found a sport im particularly good at. so i'm just trying to cut out all the junk from my diet and go for long walks every day. it's hard work, but it'll be worth it! just need to really stick to it this time. i'm sure you'll get right back into the swing of things- good luck! xx

  4. What motivates me? Being vertically challenged & having a very unhealthy family. So I eat super clean most of the time, then I can enjoy my desserts. I also have Billy Blanks DVDs at home when I don't feel like heading to the gym. (With his crazy *ss)

  5. That is good motivation. Lol I have no clue who Billy Banks is. I will have to look him up because I have plenty of days when I don't feel like going to the gym.
    That's good advice as well Emma, I am really working on cutting out junk but me and sweets are closer than my family....but I will try and stay strong! =]

    Thanks ladies!
